Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July weekend! My own artist at home, Kelly McDonald Lindsay made this patriotic print and wanted to share. This one will get framed in a white wood frame and stored in the “4th of July” Rubbermaid tote (see yesterday’s post).
Here’s a little tid-bit on freedom:

So, I know this isn’t exactly about the 4th of July. It represents a totally different kind of freedom, that of slaves. BUT, this book is cool for another reason: the art. Kate picked this up at the library a few weeks back. The illustrations are fantastic! When I read the back jacket cover, I learned that I knew (sort of) the illustrator. We went to the same High School–Parkway South–St. Louis, MO. He was always good at art and now look, he’s making a career of it! Way to go, John Hendrix. Check out his website at www.johnhendrix.com Books can be purchased there an on www.Amazon.com
Happy Weekend to all!
