In My Brain Today: Christmas is Coming
By Leslie Lindsay As the days tick by on the Advent calendar at our house, I feel more panic than anticipation. You see, I am not feeling ready for the festivities. And usually I am. Of course, that was back in the day when I was a child and everything seemed to take forever. It’s true: time really does go by faster the older one gets. In fact, I have had nightmares that the Christmas tree isn’t up yet…the gifts aren’t purchased…the whole nine yards! In one such dream, it was Christmas morning and I had no gifts for my children–Santa didn’t come–and so I was out in the snow driving around trying to find something–anything–that was open so I could procure a few items for my kids to open, even if it was just a junky little toy from Walgreens. Another dream was about the tree not being up and so the only thing we could find on such short-notice was a tiny little Charlie Brown style tree. It was pathetic and I cried …
