In My Brain Today: Tightening Your Belt

By Leslie Lindsay This post isn’t going to be about New Year’s Resolution #1 (losing weight), not really.  Bear with me. You see, every year around this time, our pants fit a little snugger, our trashcans fill a little higher, and our credit card bills roll in.  Ugh.  I know–I feel it, too.  And I don’t like it.  But the thing is: it’s universal.  And I have a bit of a theory to share that has to do with waste: The more you buy = more trash.  More trash = bigger credit card bill.  Bigger credit card bill = self-indulgence to soften the edges of the ghastly bill (which = softer flesh).  And so on and so forth…. Get me so far? I know when I am eating right and exercerzing regularly my pants fit better.  I have less time and interest in shopping, too (and less likely to grab take-out on my way home from a shop-till-you-drop mega-spree thus increasing the waist line and garbage barrel, consequently the credit card bill). So, there just may be …
