In My Brain Today: “Acoustic Guitars and Dusky Vocals”

By Leslie Lindsay Lately I have been listening to one of my favorite music artists belt out the tunes.  I don’t know why, but the music of Colbie Caillat seems so full, rich, and well…autumnal.  Maybe it’s just the season that has got me duped thinking the music itself is also fall-like, but I kid you not, the music just feels like fall. I love her lyrics, her buttery sounding voice soothe over the words like a balm healing the broken-hearted soul.  She sings from experience, or so it seems.  I can clearly see the sunshine day, the boy she is gonna let go because he’s hooked on someone else….and the bestfriends who are lovers.  So, this disc (okay, not the disc, but the digital version)  has been spinning in my iPod-playing stereo for about a week non-stop.  It’s great background music and it sort of gives one the illusion that the music is one’s own personal soundtrack. So, I had to do a little cyber-stalking on Ms. Callait…here goes:  She was born Colbie Marie …
