Momma’s got a new iPod. It’s a great piece of technology with all of the bells and whistles–and roughly the size and weight of a credit card. Well, it’s a little bigger than that, but you get the idea–it’s pretty darn tiny.
Since receiving my iPod for Mother’s Day nearly a month ago, I haven’t been able to use it. I must be a complete moron when it comes to technology! I read the little instruction manual that came with it. Also about the size of a credit card. Thought I had things all figured out. But for some reason, the music that I had “shopped” for at the iTunes Store wasn’t transferring over to my iPod. Ugh….So, the brand-new shiny piece of technology sat collecting dust on my desk. I wanted to take it to the gym, plug it into my ears and run, run, run! I had it all planned out. I would jam to my favorite tunes and shed a few pounds. But then I couldn’t get the iPod to work like I wanted and my knee started acting up. So I spent more time at Starbucks nursing Cherry Mochas and my knee.
Until today when I took the tiny hunk of shiny silver to the Apple Store and got it all working to my satisfaction. It’s still complicated. I love how easy things are supposed to be, but well–I just can’t keep up with the technological advances–which hit the typical market about every 9 months. I really don’t have the opportunity to sit and “play” with it, either–there’s always something or someone (usually 5 and under) demanding my attention. When I finally do have the opportunity, I’m bone-tired from running around all day like a chicken with my head cut off.
I still have much to learn about this thing. But I will tell you this: I’ll use it tomorrow to record preschool graduation. As for my evening run–anyone seen my Walkman with the mixed tape?!
