Cute & Simple: Valentine Shadowbox

1–2 minutes

It was one of those long, boring, COLD days and I was a little restless. I pulled out a Tupperware box marked, “Valentine’s Day” and did a little excavation, unearthing a beautiful piece of handprint art belonging to my youngest daughter.

Of course, my brain couldn’t possibly pass up an opportunity to be creative, so I framed it.  It was easy.  Super-easy.

I needed to go to Hobby Lobby for something anyway, so I strolled over to the framing department.  Box frames (shadow boxes) were on sale for half-off.  I placed one in my cart.  Next I headed to the scrapbook aisle and found the perfect Valentine-themed sheet of paper, 12×12–the same dimensions of the frame.

Once home, my assembly was as sweet as popping the art work in the frame and adhering with rubber cement and push pins.

The art now sits proudly on an entry-way bench…Happy Valentine’s Day…and happy crafting!
