A Little Literacy, Please: Berenstain Bear Book Give-away!!!

Standard

Just last week, I was invited to attend a book signing for one of my very favorite book series:  The Berenstain Bears!  Sure, I grew up reading about Mama, Papa, Brother and Sister who lived down a Sunny Dirt Road deep in Bear Country, and I would even bet you did, too.

Well, now we’re welcoming a whole new generation of bear lovers to the bookstore.  (My girls have some old ones from my childhood which they’ve developed a fondness for).   The newest ones are part of the “Living Lights” series, penned by Mike Berenstain and illustrated by his mother, Jan.  Ms. Berenstain is 87 years old and still going strong with her drawings!

What’s different about this new generation of bears is that they have added a Christian theme to the stories, along with their classic lesson-in-a-book

I heard Mr. Mike (Berenstain) read “The Berenstain Bears and the Gossip Gang” to the group of kids at Anderson’s Bookstore in Naperville, IL on June 9th.  And…I just so happen to have a signed copy of the very book to give-a-way to a lucky blog reader!

All you have to do is send me your most treasured memory of The Berenestain Bears to leslie_lindsay@hotmail.com or by posting a comment in the “comment” section of this blog. (your memories will not go anywhere but to me).   Memories can be your own childhood memory, a favorite title, or an experience your children have had with the Bears.

Hurry–contest ENDS tomorrow, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15th at 5pm.

(Winner will be drawn at random and announced on Thursday’s blog.  I will mail the book to you).

Good luck and happy reading!!
