New Year New You: Busting Out

By Leslie Lindsay If you think this post is going to be about bras or busts, you are not correct.  If you think this post is going to be about shaking up your routine, then you would be on the right track. The winter doldrums may be setting in right about now–or maybe–they have been there a for a few weeks already.  It’s true, there is something about this time of year that makes us feel a little–well, bland.  But the key is to not let it get to  you!  Here are a few tios to bust out of that funk: Always have something to look forward to.  This was advice given to us as newlyweds some years back by a good friend–a physician–who passed away in his 50’s from cancer.  It’s age-old advice not only applies to newlyweds and relationships, but it applies to life in general.  When we have something to look forward to, there is a little spring in our step, a little project brewing, the ideas are circulating.  It’s good for us. New Year, New You: Getting Organized

By Leslie Lindsay Most folks hate the calm after the storm….they hate the quietness, the gray dreary days of January.  I, for one happen to like it.  And here’s why:  it’s a great time to get organized.  Plus, it’s sort of fun to “play” with your new things (or your kids’ new things). So, here are a few ideas to get you going: Clear out all of your files.  It’s great way to feel a bit lighter—hey, you may still have 10 lbs of Christmas cookies to burn off, but getting out from all of that paperwork is sure to make you feel a little lighter (not only that, but it helps prepare for tax season, which is right around the corner). While you’re at it, go ahead and clear out your wardrobe.  You know, those dorky sweaters you were hanging on to for the annual “ugly sweater contest,” well…it’s over, go ahead and toss ’em.  Be honest about your size…if you haven’t wore it in a season or two thinking you’ll lose weight, drop it …
