Special Saturday: Elf Ruberic, Holiday Announcements, and More

By Leslie Lindsay

Happy Holidays, all!  Crazy time of year–and for that I am just now getting to my Friday blog–which was yesterday.  So, my apologies.  We’ll call this one “Special Saturday,” since it is after all, Christmas Eve.

Ellie-the-Elf (our version of the Elf on the Shelf) has recently left an “Official Santa Ruberic” for our darling little elves.  It was all rolled up and secured with a ribbon, complete with sparkly green glitter.  Accompanying the ruberic was a letter indicating what this was all about: behavior. Specifically the behavior leading up  to the “big day” in which the big guy would roll down the chimney with a bag full of gifts.  My kids took one look at it and sort of rolled their eyes…”great, even Santa is into this behavior business like mom and dad.”

Here it is if you all are looking for something similar.  This one was created by my hubby, so gotta give credit where credit is due!

Okay, and the other thing is–I will be taking a brief hiatus from the blogosphere.  No worries–I’ll be back (are you reading that in the Terminator voice?!).  Let’s say I make a return for sure by Jan 3.  Between now and then, the blogging may be sporadic, if at all.  We writer folks love to write, so I just may feel the need to log on with a few thoughts.  You never know.

But, that’s not to say that you can’t get some good information on apraxia and parenting in the meantime. I recently heard from a mom–who is also a blogger and who also has a son with CAS.  She blogs on WordPress as well http://jakesjourneydotcom.wordpress.com/ So, check it out!!

If you have any ideas, hints, tips, comments, suggestions of things you’d like me to write about, send me an email, leslie_lindsay@hotmail.com and I will be sure to get back to you!

Best wishes for a happy holiday and a bright and cheerful new year.
