💙Today is #apraxiaawarenessday 💙 Guys! This is my baby, in more ways than one. Over the course of 4 years, I researched and wrote this book about a rare, but serious speech disorder known as Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), which my now-14 yo daughter had as a child. It’s a motor-neurological speech disorder in which kids know what they💭 want to say, but just can’t find the pathways to do so. It’s like having your tongue tied all the time. Or, as if you have something on the ‘tip of your tongue.’ Only about 1-2 out of every 1,000 #children have CAS. It can be treated, but it takes many years of speech therapy, additional practice at home, and sometimes more. 🤸‍♀️ So I wrote this book because there’s so little information for parents. On-line can be a rabbit hole. The book has won awards, so that’s good. 😉 And...I just turned in edits for a 2nd edition!
