Apraxia Monday: Dealing with More

1–2 minutes

It’s been a long summer.   We’ve been busy–as I am sure you have, too.  Parks, pools, summer camp, a mini vacation, an ice cream social, and a trip to Cape Cod at the end of the week.  But we now have one more thing to add to the list: probable ADHD.

I’m not going to freak out.  I guess I could…but really, what’s the good in that?  Instead, I am going to read up on it and find our all I can on the symptomolgy, treatment, and things we can do at home to make life a little easier.  I am going to reach out and ask for advice from others and I am still going to do things that make me feel good (carbs, shopping and napping!)  I am going to love my girls for ever and ever, no matter what.  I am going to help them succeed in life and I am going to do it cheerfully.  I am not going to have a pity party (although I probably could come up with some cute invitations…) and I am not going to sit back and say, “Woe is me.”

The thing is this: I have a little girl who is exceptionally bright.  She has a ton of energy and a great zest for life.  She is spontaneous and creative.  She is industrious.  And she is mine.  And I will love her no matter what.

Later today: Photos posted from our back-to-school ice cream party

Tomorrow: Tips on riding the bus.

Later this week: Lunch Packing 101 and Busy Moms (ya think?!)

Up Ahead: No blogging for me Aug 20-25th as we are on vacation with limited Internet access

  1. Did you get a diagnosis?

  2. I wish it were that easy for me. I feel like I am drowning in grief a little everyday. Even with everything I do, everything I read, every prayer I might give up… we sink a little deeper. I wish I could just be happy and comfortable with it… “keep on keeping on”. I envy you.
